Hardeman County, located in the southwestern portion of the state on the Mississippi State line, was created on 16 October 1823 from Chickasaw Indian Lands. The county seat was named Bolivar. These records were collected by the W.P.A. workers as they gathered information on the cemeteries of the county. This material contains the listing of each of the cemeteries at that time along with some history as well as some of the rather important persons that were buried in that graveyard.
