During the nineteenth century, hundreds of Tennesseans began to migrate west-ward as did so many other people. Their reasons for going are many and varied from searching for more and cheaper land or a sense of adventure. In many cases, a whole congregation gathered around a minister and all moved together. Everyone was searching for the perfect life. This volume is an alphabetical listing of persons moving to Missouri between 1810 and 1875. It is not a complete listing, but the names are taken from various sources. Missouri undertook to make a listing by quadrant of those living there and in turn ask them where they were born and when they came to Missouri. In this effort you may find the county were they were born and their occupation at the time of the listing. Some of them are from the 1850 Census of the county.
