Grant County, Kentucky, located in the northern central portion of the state, was created in 1820 out of the lands that once belonged to Pendleton County. The material found in this volume is taken from two sources: First, History of Kentucky by Lewis Collins written in 1882c and Second, Kentucky: A History of the State by W. H. Perin, J. H. Battle and G. C. Kniffin written in 1885. Since most of the materials in these two volumes came from the families themselves, they can be considered more accurate than most books of this type.
