Cocke County, located in the middle of east Tennessee nestled up next to the North Carolina State line. It was established just a year after Tennessee was made a state in 1796. This volume contains land records primarily and gives a great deal of information on the location of the land and the owners. This information is especially important when there are multiple persons of the same name in a county. The various land holdings distinguish between the two different persons.
