Benton County, locate in the mid-western portion of the state, was created on 3 January 1835 and was named for Senator Thomas Hart Benton of Missouri. In this volume you will find a brief history of the county, Death Register 1883-1886, and Marks and Brands 1839-1845. This latter is a good listing of those living in the area at the time as most all persons living in the county were farmer/ranchers with cattle.
