Lauderdale County, located in west Tennessee was created 1935 from Dyer, Tipton and Haywood Counties and named for Colonel James Lauderdale who fell at the Battle of New Orleans in the War of 1812. This minute book is the proceedings of the county court in the day to day running of the county and the various items of business. A variety of different records are found here that will be of interest to the genealogist.
September 6, 1836 – This day Levina Linnville came into court and pray the court that Pleasant G. Davenport be appointed her guardian which granted he having entered into bond conditioned and payable as the law directs.
Isaac D. Maxwell records his stock mark (to wit) crop of the left ear and under bit in the right ear.
