The counties of Rhea, Meigs and Roane in Tennessee are the general location of the Watts Bar Reservoir. There are many cemeteries in the area that were surveyed and found to be well above the pool level of the lake and therefore, were not plated and cataloged. They are listed in this survey and the notes of their disposition. When a plat is given, this may be the only record of the location and relationship of one grave to another which can be used to determine family relationships. The listing or catalog of each of these cemeteries maybe the only naming of those graves to be found. The source of information may give a clue to the living descendants of the deceased.

#22 – GREEN CEMETERY – Located on the right bank of Clinch River in Roane County, TN at mile 3.9 on a knoll in woods approximately 1200 feet from the river as shown on Land Map 10N47, Tract No. 898. Contains 50 graves, eight monuments. Access is only slightly impaired. We executed 48 remain agreements. The remaining graves are relatives of Edgar Mahoney of Harriman, TN, who states he does not want the graves moved but refuses to sign any agreement, he states that he will make a verbal statement before witnesses that he desires the two graves to remain undisturbed. Survey taken 17 April 1941 on Dr. Green s tract of land. Here follows the name and date on each of the graves….
