Cindy Gentry – hard cover – dust jacket – 274 pages – photographs – full name index – 1996
Battle Ground Academy in middle Tennessee has changed the lives of thousands of persons involved in the educational process at this school. Ms Gentry writes to revive the memories of happy times and times to evaluate one’s life as they move on from this place. The book is filled with hundreds of photographs of classes and activities of the students through the many years of the school’s existence. Following the Battle of Franklin in 1864, the area is well known for history and hundreds of lives changed here. The Academy was involved in all of this.
A great read to understand education on a different plain that we normally consider it today.
